My name is Peer Lovfald. I built my first catamaran in the early 1960's. In the 1970's I served as president of the Experimental Yacht Society. I have designed and built tooling for sail and power catamaran hulls from 26 ft. to 47 ft. in length. In the late 1970's I designed and built a 31' power catamaran. She was 25 years before her time. In the 1980's I built "Mr. Bill's Dog," a 1/4-ton racing sail boat from scratch. Start to finish the project took 10 weeks. She won two North American championships and one World Championship in Scotland. The Skimmer Catamaran is the culmination of my experiences. Her shape is very different from other designs.
